6. klupski turnir u Zagrebu, Medačka 18, najava

U srijedu 31.08.2011. u 19:00 u prostorijama Backgammon Tavla kluba Zagreb održat će se šesti po redu klupski turnir u 2011. godini.

Igrat će se po uobičajenom formatu za klupske turnire u Zagrebu - 5 kola do 5 osvojenih bodova samo u slučaju prijave manje od 16 igrača. U suprotnom (ako se prijavi više od 16 igrača) igrat će single elimination s mečevima do 9 osvojenih bodova i utješni turnir za igrače koji ispadnu u 1. i 2. kolu (do 5 osvojenih bodova). 

Kotizacija za turnir je 100kn, a 1. nagrada je tavla (board) turnirskih dimenzija iz majstorske radionice Hasana Lonića iz Bihaća. Nagrade za 2. i 3. mjesto dodjeljuje tvrtka Nobel.

GridGammon: Mostar Backgammon Open online satelit, rezultati

30. kolovoza 2011. u 21:00 na GridGammon backgammon internet serveru održan je freeroll turnir u organizaciji Hrvatskog backgammon saveza. 
 
Pobijedio je Tomislav Štrk iz Zagreba nakon što je u finalu savladao Tufana Kiziklkayu. Nagrada pobjedniku je besplatan ulaz (u vrijednosti od 200kn) na Mostar Backgammon Open. 

Slijedeći CBT online satelit održati će se 27.09.2011. 21:00 također na GridGammon backgammon serveru. Nagrada pobjedniku je besplatna kotizacija za Split Open 2011, koji će se održati 8. i 9. listopada 2011. Više o CBT online satelitima.

GNU Backgammon, nova verzija

Izašla je nova verzija GNU Backgammona (20110822), najboljeg besplatnog backgammon softwarea, kojim se mogu analizirati mečevi odigrani na online serverima (GridGammon, FIBS itd.) ili "u živo" na turnirima (ukoliko se zabilježe), te igrati mečevi na računalu. 

Svježa verzija, uglavnom sadrži ispravke bugova, uz poneku manju novu funkcionalnost. Poboljšanje neural neta, jezgre svakog backgammon software-a, odavno nije napravljeno, stoga GnuBG gubi trku sa konkurentom eXtremme Gammonom, čija netom izašla druga verzija, pravi razliku u jačini još primjetnijom. 

Međutim, razlika u cijeni (GnuBG $0 - XG $50) i snaga u igri čine GnuBG još uvijek odličnim alatom za svakog igrača backgammona koji ne želi potrošiti $50 za eXtremme Gammon.

This is last call for remaining nations to enter the 2nd Online Nations Cup to be played on GridGammon server. This year we have over 32 national teams from all continents around the world (except Antarctica) drawing teams from numerous backgammon federations and national clubs worldwide.

4th Online Satellite towards Play65/EBGT Grand Finale

Play65 and the World Backgammon Association (WBA) are resuming Play65/EBGT season 2011 with the fourth Play65/EBGT Grand Finale online satellite. The first in a series of Play65 exclusive online satellites for the European Backgammon Tournament Grand Finale will be on Sunday, 28th August 2011 at 18:30 GMT.

A minimum of 8 players are required to get the satellite going.

Play65/EBGT Grand Finale will be on 5-7 December 2011, in Lefkosa, Northern Cyprus, and is expected to be one of the biggest backgammon events of the year, with only 24 qualified players competing for the €25,000 prize pool.

CBT: Mostar Backgammon Open 2011, najava

Poštovane igračice i igrači backgammona i tavle, 

Pozivamo Vas na 1. međunarodni backgammon turnir - Mostar Backgammon Open 2011 koji će se u organizaciji Backgammon kluba Zrinjski i Hrvatskog Backgammon - Tavla Saveza održati u subotu i nedjelju 10. i 11.09.2011. u prostorima kluba u Mostaru ulica Ante Starčevića 54. 

Glavni turnir će se igrati po švicarskom sistemu, sedam mečeva do 9 bodova. 

U subotu 10.09. će se igrati četiri kola glavnog turnira, a u nedjelju preostala tri. 

Na turnir se možete prijaviti u subotu do 11:00, a početak turnira je predviđen za 12:00. U nedjelju se turnir nastavlja u 9:00. 

Mostar Open je 5. po redu rating turnir Hrvatske backgammon lige u 2011. godini, a pravo nastupa na turniru imaju svi igrači koji uplate kotizaciju od 200kn i registraciju od 50kn. 

Registracije su oslobođeni članovi klubova Hrvatskog backgammon saveza. Učlanjenje će biti moguće i na turniru u Mostaru. Godišnja članarina iznosi 100kn. Članovi će biti oslobođeni registracije na sva preostala 3 rating turnira hrvatskog backgammon saveza u 2011. godini (Split, Rijeka i Mostar). 

80% ukupno uplaćenih kotizacija za glavni turnir, vratit će se igračima kroz nagrade na slijedeći način:

Format:
(1)  Will be played on GridGammon. MACS interface will be provided to interested individuals. Nicknames will be arranged through a special service free of charge to USBGF members who are not already registered on GridGammon. If you do not have a GridGammon nickname, email support@gridgammon.com and state that you would like a new account to play in the USBGF National Internet Championship.
(2)  Double elimination format.
(3)  Two weeks will be allowed for arranging and completing the first round match; 10 days will be allowed for subsequent rounds.
(4)  There will be three divisions: Open, Advanced, and Intermediate;
(5)  All three divisions will employ the same format, but use different match lengths.  In the Open it will be best two of three 11 pointers for all undefeated players.  In the 2nd chance, from which a player can still win the championship, it will be a single 13 point match.  The Advanced will employ 9 and 11 pointers.  The Intermediate will have 7 and 9 pointers.
(6)  E-mail addresses will be kept confidential and shared only with tournament director and co-directors to assist in scheduling matches.
Recognition:
(1)  Top 4 winners in each division will receive USBGF certificates signed by the Tournament Director.
(2)  Top 4 winners in each division with photos will be recognized on the USBGF website Hall of Fame under the Winners tab on the Home Page.
(3)  The top two finalists in the Open Division will qualify for the 2012 Nation’s Cup to be played on GridGammon. Other members of the team will be the top two finalists of the 2012 USBGF National Championships and the USBGF Player of the Year (live in a location to be determined).
(4)  The winners of the Open, Advanced, and Intermediate divisions will receive a qualifying spot in the 2012 USBGF National Championship Playoff, bypassing the qualifying brackets of 8.

No clocks will be used during the tournament,

Chris Ternel makes it to his third consecutive Final and is thwarted from winning it for a second time by Peter Bennet.

Liverpool Open (30-31 July)
 Although the event was 12 days ago I am waiting on a report (and some more results); however, it's congratulations to Brian Lever on his record-breaking 4th win.

The SAC Trophy (5-7 August)
Julian Fetterlein, the only player on 5-5 was robbed of 1st place by Chris Ternel in the 6th Round. The tie-breaker then placed him 2nd to Mike Heard's 1st.

Dan Tutchings keeps his #1 slot, and Brian Lever (Liverpool winner) jumps in at #2. Kevin Jones come in at #3 as Martin Barkwill and Phil Tutchings go down to #5 & #8 and Neil Webb down to #4. Alastair Woods comes in at #6 with Simon K Jones at #7. The next BBT event is the September, "Hinckley Five-O" which promises to be a good turnout, especially as it has £500 added prize money and a Winner-Takes-All Rollover of £195! Latest on Lewis: He is currently in the States recovering from his operations and doing very well indeed. He is undergoing a gruelling physiotherapy regime which will see him eventually leading a normal, wheelchair-free life -- all thanks (in part) to your efforts. The Hinckley Five-O (2-4 September) - An event to celebrate the 50th birthdays this year of its sponsors, Wayne Felton and Dod Davies. They have gernerosuly added £500 Prize Money, and there is also a £195 Winner-Takes-All Rollover up for grabs.
