Pozicije sa kockom za uduplavanje na Dubrovnik Backgammon Magazine

Dubrovnik Doubling Cube novi je backgammon blog i feature Dubrovnik Backgammon Magazina. Pokušati ćemo u dnevnom ritmu ili svaki drugi dan objavljivati po jednu poziciju gdje se govori o tome što raditi sa kockom za uduplavanje. 

Uz kratki komentar, nešto duži nego za checker play, svaka pozicija bit će popraćena s min 5k dugim eXtremme Gammon rolloutom, kako za match play, tako i za money play, čime će se dobiti jasnija slika o utjecaju rezultata na odluke. 

U komentarima ćemo se koristiti raznim terminima iz teorije o uduplavanju (Woolseyevo i Robertijevo pravilo, PRAT, market loser itd). Na side baru bloga s desne strane izbor je linkova na osnovne članke o kocki za uduplavanje gdje se može naći više informacija.

CBT: Izmjena u kalendaru natjecanja

Došlo je do izmjene u kalendaru natjecanja Hrvatske backgammon lige, na prijedlog organizatora turnira u Splitu i Mostaru. Spomenuti turniri su zamijeniti termine. Sve ostalo ostaje isto. 

Razlog za promjenu termina je usklađivanje s kalendarom Tavla saveza BiH. Naime, Backgammon klub Derby-Zrinjski iz Mostara organizator je pojedinačnog prvenstva Bosne i Hercegovine koje će se održati 05-06.11.2011. samo tjedan dana prije vikenda za koji je predviđen 7. rating turnir Hrvatske backgammon lige.

Nagrada za 1. mjesto je 800€, za 2. mjesto 400€, a za 3. i 4. mjesto po 200€.

5. klupski turnir u Zagrebu, Medačka 18, najava

U srijedu 01.06.2011. s početkom u 19:00, održati će se u prostorijama backgammon kluba Zagreb, Medačka 18, peti ovogodišnji klupski turnir. 

Kotizacija za sudjelovanje je 100kn, a nagrada pobjedniku je backgammon ploča, rad Hasana Lonića iz Bihaća. Nagrade za 2. i 3. mjesto dodjeljuje tvrtka Nobel. 

Novost je format turnira. Ukoliko se prijavi 16 i više igrača igrati će se knock out sistem sa mečevima do 9pts u glavnom turniru, utješnome do 7pts i last chance do 5pts. U slučaju da bude manje od 16 igrača igrati će se swiss u pet kola sa mečevima do 5pts.

A critical error slipped through 2.7.2. If the tutor was disabled, BGBlitz did freeze. 

If you always have the tutor turned on, you can skip this update, otherwise you'll need it.

You find the new version at: http://www.bgblitz.com/download.html  The update is free.

To update just install the free version (Windows: please uninstall the old version first) from Frank Berger website, there is no special update version. The license should survive the update. If not, just drag&drop your license file on the board of BGBlitz. If you've lost your license somehow, send Frank an email.

GNU Backgammon, nova verzija

Izašla je nova verzija GNU Backgammona, najboljeg besplatnog backgammon softwarea na svijetu, kojim se mogu analizirati vlastiti mečevi odigrani na online serverima (GridGammon, FIBS itd.), ali i igrati mečevi na računalu.

Two versions of GnuBG are currently available:IN

• current MAIN (CVS tag MAIN, current version 0.90): most recent source code (snapshot 20110518) install archive (win threads, sse2)

Nove verzije, uglavnom sadrže ispravke bugova, uz poneki manji feature, stoga se preporučuju. Upgrade neural neta, jezgre svakog backgammon software-a, odavno nije napravljen, niti je najavljen, čime GnuBG gubi trku sa direktnim konkurentom eXtremme Gammonom, čija je nova verzija najavljena za kraj lipnja. 

Međutim, razlika u cijeni (GnuBG $0 - XG $50) i snaga u igri (vjerojatno je 2. bot po jačini, odmah poslije XGa) čine GnuBG još uvijek odličnim alatom za svakog ozbiljnog igrača backgammona koji ne želi potrošiti $50 za eXtremme Gammon, niti ga je osvojio kao nagradu na nedavno završenom Dubrovnik Openu.

1st Giants of Backgammon Invitational Tournament

Ovaj vikend se igra 31st Chicago Open Backgammon Tournament. Kao dio Chicago Opena, igrati će se po prvi puta Giants of Backgammon Invitational Tournament, na kojemu će nastupiti 16 igrača sa Giant liste. 

Turnir počinje u četvrtak 26.05. u 21:00 po našem vremenu. Ono što je zanimljivo, je to da će se barem jedan ako ne i dva meča svakog kola, kako kaže direktor Rory Pascar na bgonline.org forumu, prenositi na Internetu. 

Na Dubrovnik Backgammon Magazinu ćemo objavljivati točna vremena početka svakog meča i linkove gdje se može pratiti prijenos putem video streaminga. Svi će se mečevi analizirati eXtremme Gammonom i kompilirati u knjižicu za daljnju prodaju.

GammonVillage Magazine, za kojeg smo jednogodišnjom pretplatom na Dubrovnik Openu 2011 nagradili dvojicu igrača, na naslovnoj stranici u rubrici Blogwatch pored linkova na FIBS board, USBGF i blog Paula Moneya "Dorbel's Daily", odnedavno sadrži i RSS feed Miranova bloga "Backgammon for Beginners", pisanog na engleskom i namijenjenog početnicima. Tema zadnjeg posta na blogu je uduplavanje u trci.

BGBlitz 2.7.2 and Bgblitz2go 2.3.0 are online

BGBlitz je backgammon software kojega razvija Frank Berger iz Njemačke. Spada među četiri najjača programa (eXtremme Gammon, GNU Backgammon, Snowie, BGBlitz) i snagom je najslabiji od njih. Međutim, niža cijena i činjenica da se još uvijek razvija, daju mu potencijal za budućnost. Zbog niza mogućnosti koje je imao od najranijih verzija nazvali su ga švicarski nož za backgammon. Sada moderni backgammon programi imaju sve što i BGBlitz, ali je nadimak ostao. Najslabija strana BGBlitza je nemogućnost analiziranja cijelog meča, što će biti, kako Frank kaže, riješeno u nekoj od budućih verzija. Besplatna verzija može se skinuti ovdje. Posebno je zanimljiva verzija za mobitele BGBlitz2go 2.3.0. Za male novce može se dobiti jak protivnik na telefonu. Prenosimo mail autora o novim verzijama spomenutih backgammon programa.

I just uploaded BGBlitz 2.7.2 and BGblitz2go 2.3.0.

BGBlitz 2.7.2 is a bug fix release. Several errors are fixed:

- when TachiAI III was used, the level of play was always Expert, independent of the selected playing strength.   
   What a pain for casual players this must have been. Sorry!
- under heavy load the wrong dice could be displayed. Fortunately this was rare.
- a memory leak was plugged
- some erroneous Tutor hints were removed
- a deadlock could happen pressing ^G if ^F was already pressed

and some small improvements:

- at the first roll, one dice is shown on the left and one on the right side of the board
- BGBmips support for 3, 6 and 12 CPUs
- improved visibility of numbers on white checkers
- better detection of usable screen area on Linux
- drag & drop support for position database files

For Windows users: please uninstall the old version before updating BGBlitz.

BGBlitz2go 2.3.0 provides following improvements:

- added support for the Jacoby rule
- much better drawing performance, especially visible on Blackberrys
- To improve the usability for devices with a full keyboard, all functions reachable through numerical keys are now reachable through alpha keys too. "e" is for evaluation, "b" for best moves, "p" for pipcount, "w" shows the history of winning probabilities and finally "r" shows the next three dice rolls
- detect changes in the screen dimension and reinitializes accordingly. Useful for phones with automatic
 landscape/horizon change
- the splash-screen can be closed with any key
- fixed: in 2-player mode with touch screens White had to point to the opposing point
- fixed: the Nackgammon setting was ignored during a match
- fixed: with a rotated board the checkers were painted as eggs
- fixed: Samsung Omnia 2 could not register
- fixed: winning props didn't show after the last game in a match </LI>

Čestitke Tomu Dugganu na backgammon forumima...

... nakon što je osvojio Dubrovnik Backgammon Open 2011.

dailygammon.com je tzv. turn based backgammon site gdje se može igrati npr. dnevno jedan potez, ali isto tako paralelno i više mečeva. Zanimljiva osobina ovog sitea je predviđanje poteza protivnika pomoću GnuBG enginea, čime se omogućuje igranje nekoliko poteza u nizu, za razliku od sličnih siteova. DailyGammon svakodnevno nudi mogućnost igranja turnira mečevima razne duljine. bgonline.org forum je nezaobilazno mjesto na webu za svakog ozbiljnijeg ljubitelja backgammona. FIBS Board je forum za one koji igraju na FIBS-u, prvom backgammon serveru na Internetu.
