1st International Backgammon Championship

1. međunarodno backgammon prvenstvo je organizirano suradnjom danske, japanske i američke backgammon federacije. Hrvatski backgammon savez dobio je poziv za sudjelovanje i organizaciju vlastitog kvalifikacijskog turnira, ali se zbog malog interesa igrača (značajna visina kotizacije) zahvalio na pozivu. Najava turnira objavljena je na stranicama Dubrovnik Backgammon Magazina. Više o ovoj zanimljivoj inicijativi može se pročitati na stranicama International Backgammon Championship-a.

Backgammon On The Beach is traditionally held at the principal beach of Grado, Italy the first weekend after 15th August. Events include two days of lessons (18th and 19th August), the Isola d’Oro Tournament (20th August), and the Friuli Venezia-Giulia Championship (21st August).
The tournaments are free-of-charge, but a donation of 10 Euros is greatly appreciated to cover organizational costs. For the Winners Cups, a free-of-charge WBF 2012 Golden Card, a backgammon board, and free-of-charge entry fee in the Intermediate for the next Mitteleuropa Backgammon Championship (Baden bei Wein, Austria, 31st August –4th September 2011, email:info@wbf.net or call +39 337 303804.

USBGF National Internet Championships

Plans are in development for the first U.S. Backgammon Federation National Internet Championship. It is tentatively scheduled to begin September 7, 2011, and will be played on GridGammon. Entry is free to all USBGF members – including Premium, Youth, and Limited members. The tournament will be directed by GM Joseph Russell joe@usbgf.org, with assistance of Leonardo Jerković onlinechampionship@usbgf.org and Justin Nunez clubs@usbgf.org

Format:

(1)  Will be played on GridGammon. MACS interface will be provided to interested individuals. Nicknames will be arranged through a special service free of charge to USBGF members who are not already registered on GridGammon. If you do not have a GridGammon nickname, email support@gridgammon.com and state that you would like a new account to play in the USBGF National Championships

(2)  Double elimination format.

(3)  Two weeks will be allowed for arranging and completing the first round match; 10 days will be allowed for subsequent rounds.

(4)  There will be three divisions: Open, Advanced, and Intermediate;

(5)  All three divisions will employ the same format, but use different match lengths.  In the Open it will be best two of three 11 pointers for all undefeated players.  In the 2nd chance, from which a player can still win the championship, it will be a single 13 point match.  The Advanced will employ 9 and 11 pointers.  The Intermediate will have 7 and 9 pointers.

(6)  E-mail addresses will be kept confidential and shared only with tournament director and co-directors to assist in scheduling matches.

Recognition:

(1)  Top 4 winners in each division will receive USBGF certificates signed by the Tournament Director.

(2) Top 4 winners in each division will have their names and photos displayed permanently on the USBGF website Hall of Fame (under the Winners tab on the Home Page).

(3)  The top two finalists in the Open Division will qualify for the 2012 Nation’s Cup to be played on GridGammon. Other members of the team will be the top two finalists of the 2012 USBGF National Championships and the USBGF Player of the Year (live in a location to be determined).

(4)  The winners of the Open, Advanced, and Intermediate divisions will receive a qualifying spot in the 2012 USBGF National Championship Playoff, bypassing the qualifying brackets of 8.

GrandMaster tournament na GridGammon online serveru u organizaciji Leonarda Jerkovića i International Internet Backgammon Federation. Na turniru sudjeluje 13 igrača koji igraju svak sa svakim do dva dobivena meča od 13pts. Rok za odigravanje mečeva je 10.02.2012. Imena sudionika potvrđuju kako se radi o vrlo jakom online turniru.

By popular demand, the formal Gala Dinner will again be held at Le Sporting/The Sporting Club on Tuesday, July 19^th from 8-10:30pm.  
“The Ballet Todes troupe of contemporary dancers will stage a sight for sore eyes!” We’ve given you an option of coming to the Gala Dinner.  

Le Sporting management has forced us to confirm the number of people who will attend the Gala Dinner.  

Please confirm: 

a) whether you want to go the dinner and show without drinks for 110 euro or 
b) go to the show only with a 1/2 bottle of wine and water for 65 euro.

Prijava igrača

Kotizacija za turnir iznosi 200 kuna. 80% ukupnog iznosa svih kotizacija bit će isplaćen najbolje plasiranim igračima kroz nagrade za prvih pet mjesta. Postoje dva opcionalna side-poola, od 100 i 300 kuna, za igrače koji bi htjeli osvojiti vrijednije novčane nagrade. Te nagrade će biti isplaćene u punoj vrijednosti (100%) najbolje plasiranim igračima koji su uplatili side-pool.

Glavni i Fighters turnir

Glavni turnir počinje u subotu u podne. Format turnira je knock-out, s mečevima do 11 bodova. Nakon poraza u glavnom turniru, igrači nastavljaju igru u tzv. Fighters turniru s mečevima do 9 bodova, gdje imaju priliku vratiti se u glavni turnir i osvojiti nagrade. Broj kola ovisi o broju igrača na turniru. Za 32 igrača, u glavnom turniru će se igrati 6 kola, a u Fighters turniru 4 kola. Za veći broj igrača, u oba turnira se igra jedno kolo više.

Last Chance turnir

Last Chance turnir počinje u nedjelju u podne i u njemu mogu sudjelovati svi igrači koji u glavnom turniru nisu osvojili nagrade. Mečevi se igraju do 5 bodova.

Turnir parova

U subotu navečer održat će se turnir parova. Na turniru sudjeluje maksimalno osam parova. Kotizacija za turnir iznosi 200 kuna po paru, od čega 75% ulazi u nagradni fond za pobjednike. Opcionalni side-pool je 200 kuna. Mečevi se igraju do 5 bodova, s finalem do 7 bodova.

Nagrade u glavnom turniru

Pobjednik: 35%
Finalist: 25%
Polufinalisti: 2x 15%
Pobjednik Last Chance turnira: 10%

Jackpot turniri

Osim glavnog turnira i turnira parova, tijekom subote i nedjelje održat će se i jackpot turniri za 4 ili 8 igrača, gdje će igrači imati dodatnu priliku osvojiti novčane nagrade.
