This is the last call for the upcoming XXIV EUROPEAN BACKGAMMON CHAMPIONSHIP, 9th EUROPEAN DOUBLES CONSULTING CHAMPIONSHIP & 11th VELDEN BACKGAMMON OPEN, scheduled at the CASINO VELDEN (am Corso 17 - Velden - Austria) from 11th till 15th April, 2012 (main event 13th, 14th and 15th April, 2012).

As last year, the Master winner will receive a minimum guaranteed prize-money of 10.000 euros!

These are the main points of the schedule:
* It is the traditional tournament of the WBF Golden Circuit scheduled at the beginning of the Springtime, the week-end after Easter;
* 100% of all entry will be returned to the players, with a minimum guaranteed prize-money of 10.000 euros for the Master winner;
* Time clocks will not be used during this event, except when a specific match is unduly delaying the tournament. However, by mutual agreement both players may use a clock;
* The public random draw will be conducted manually;
* All matches will be played on professional Rizzello & Romagnoli tournament boards. Our boards are regularly cleaned and disinfected after every tournament;
* Mochy’s lecture on Saturday: the 2009 World Backgammon Champion and n. 1 Backgammon Giant 2010/2011 will be revealing the secrets of his success at the lecture;
* Last year's paid money-prize 49.990 euro (including Super-Jackpot);
* Last year, in celebration of 10 years of Backgammon in Velden, we realized a video of the event. Every 2011 participant will receive a cd with the official video of the XXIII European Backgammon Championship. We will produce a tournament video also for 2012 edition;
* On Wednesday 11th April, 2012 at 17:00 tournament play commences with opening rounds in the Warm-up (free-of-charge - for registered players only), R&R Trophy (free-of-charge - for WBF supporters only), Quarter Entries, One Point Matches, Jackpots, the 2011 European Championship video presentation and the first Cocktail;
* On Thursday 12th April, 2012 at 15:30 play continues in the Warm-up (second part - free-of charge - for registered players only), R&R Trophy (second part - free-of-charge - for WBF supporters only). At 21:30 play commences in the 9th EUROPEAN DOUBLES CONSULTING CHAMPIONSHIP;
* On Friday 13th April, 2012 at 19:30 we will have the 2011 European Championship video presentation and at 20:00 we will host the Welcoming Cocktail followed by commencement of the Main Tournament;
* On Saturday 14th April, 2012 at 14:00 Main and Progressive Consolation events are scheduled. The Ladies Tournament, Mochy’s lecture and Super-Jackpot will also begin;
* On Sunday 15th April, 2012 at 13:00 Finals and the Last Chance Tournament will be played followed by the Casinos Austria Dinner Party and Awards Ceremony.
